LBLA is developing a pollinator garden for Ambler Yards, a complex of vintage buildings reimagined as a modern workspace. The proposed garden is organized around a central gathering place - “The Heli-Pad”, a reference to the site’s historical past. The circular space affords office workers and visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in nature, have lunch, or conduct meetings in the Wi-Fi enabled outdoor room. A showy native wildflower seed mix on the upper slope transitions to a no-mow native seed mix on the lower slope, transforming the manicured lawn into a meadow oasis. A wide variety of host and nectar producing plants will provide food sources for pollinators throughout the long growing season. Interpretive signs will graphically describe the various habitats, regional ecology, and site history.
